Today, however, the FBI is asking for your help in bringing justice to one Backpage pimp. His name is Jose Torres and for years he was running his own version of Backpage scam.

For more than six years Tony Ortega paychecks were directly dependent upon how much ad space Backpage could sell to pimps looking to profit of sexually exploitable women, many of them underage.
We here at the blog have long contended that Tony Ortega and the men at the top of this sex-for-cash scheme were fully aware of their actions.
As we’ve been discussing the events that would start in motion the beginning of the end for Backpage, we thought it might be helpful to explore the landmark case that started it all — the lawsuit filed by a 14 yr sex trafficking victim who was brave enough to stand against bullies like Tony Ortega who were seeking to discount stories like hers as ‘breathless hysteria’.
It should be said that, true to form, of course Tony Ortega would call his enemies ’breathless hysterics’.

During a recent unhinged screed Tony Ortega, famous for his tone-deaf lack of self-awareness, referred to a woman in question as an a ‘apologist for Scientology’.
That’s just how laughably hypocritical Tony Ortega’s assessment is given that he is on the record in multiple articles and interviews defending the sex-trafficking scam Backpage put in place to earn hundreds of millions from the countless young women and underage girls they victimized during their reign of terror.

This week, we heard the first words Backpage.com co-founder and Tony Ortega’s former boss, Michael Lacey, offered about allegations he faces for running a prostitution ring and shady money laundering operation.
“Nonsense!” was all he said before his attorney added that his client had no further comment. Nonsense, as if to imply that all the lives he and the people who worked for him ruined and left discarded behind them were nothing but a joke to him.
