Putting The Tony Ortega ‘Victim’ Lie Forever To Rest

Here at the blog we began our examination into the damaging lies Tony Ortega for so long spewed in order to protect and serve his Backpage masters, and just how damaging his intentional misrepresentation of the facts were in the lives of one family in particular.
Previously, in this harrowing story out of Canada we met a mother and her 16-year-old daughter who were about to discover that Backpage was anything but the bastion of “Freedom” Tony Ortega tried so badly to sell it as.
The mother’s story continues:
“It all started by me watching her walk away with her girlfriend she was going for lunch with. She gave me the phone number, smiled and walked away. This would be the moment everything changed for her, and our family.
She was supposed to meet up with us after lunch and shopping… I was so angry because we had been waiting for so long and she did not follow through with our plans. Finally, a few hours later she texted me, apologizing saying her phone died and said she was getting a ride home from her friends ’ mom.
… Hours passed and I began texting again but nothing. I finally got nervous and around 10 p.m. and I called the police. They came to the house, I explained everything that had happened. I gave them this friend ’ s name and the phone number I had for her.”
It’s easy to feel this mother’s fear. It’s the basic human empathy base con-men like Tony Ortega will never understand — as Ortega and his Backpage cronies proved time and again as they repeated lied to the public about the truth behind their human trafficking enterprise.
[The police] told me not to worry, she would likely show up or call within the next couple hours.
It would have been around midnight I noticed this picture posted on my daughter ’ s Facebook page. She was wearing different clothing, a dress and high boots. Through the reflection of the window, I could see a big tower and I remember becoming upset and feeling like something wasn ’ t right.
Right away, I could tell she was in a hotel room in downtown Toronto.
I immediately called the police and when they returned, I showed them the picture. They took that picture to follow up and told me they would be back in touch soon.
It was the longest time ever encountered…”
Regardless of how many hacks like Tony Ortega try and sanitize the practice, the fact remains sex trafficking is never a victimless crime. The desperate fear of not knowing may be among the most traumatic things any parent can endure.
And how much worse is that desperation when you have grinning jackals like Ortega shouting that you are over-reacting? …Worse still, when soulless ghouls like Tony play the victim card insisting they are the ones truly wronged in all this?
To us, this lie is particularly disgusting. It is not right. And it should not be allowed to stand unchallenged.
Be assured, in our next installment of this heartbreaking saga we will put the Tony Ortega ‘victim’ lie forever to rest.
